Print: "Dying" but not dead yet!

I used to subscribe to lots of magazines: Marie Claire, In Style, & Lucky to name a few. But after awhile, I got disillusioned because 90% of their content came from ads. With many magazines going online and print subscribers converting left and right, imagine my shock to stumble across a diamond...

I love the bright, cheerful cover. Reminds me
of Domino, the now-defunct magazine from
Martha Stewart.
The magazine is called The Nest. It's published by The Knot and has a fantastic website, www.thenest.com. I'm in love with this website and magazine -- some much that I considered **gasp** subscribing — **Wait for it** — to the print magazine.

Shocked, huh? Me, too. The online community for The Nest is thriving, with a message board, oodles of downloadable checklists, and fun recipes to try. Some content is only available to community members, but from what I've seen, joining up is free. However, most of the content is available without membership.

But I'm an old-fashioned girl and I have an unhealthy love of receiving mail, especially packages, cards and handwritten letters (yes, those still exist). So I like the idea of coming home and having the print edition of The Nest waiting for me. Con: The ads, especially the tearaway ones that fall all over the ground. Pro: Getting mail I'll actually read, mail that I can take with me on the porch or on a road trip without paying for data usage or relying on Wi-Fi spots, etc.

What would it take for YOU to return to print?
